Tranmere’s home game against Fleetwood Town tomorrow has been postponed after an early pitch inspection on Friday deemed the pitch unplayable.
There were hopes that the pitch will have had some level of recovery following 18 days with no match on it, however, the torrential rain which has hit the north-west this week has put paid to that.
Rovers were heading into the game off the back of a last-gasp victory at Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday night and will have had high hopes of kicking on. However, Micky Mellon’s team will instead move into a potentially season-defining run of games.
Both Tranmere and Fleetwood will now work with the EFL to come up with a new date for the match to be played. Looking at respective fixture lists, that may happen on March 31st/April 1st as neither team have a midweek fixture that week.
