Wigan striker Lang and Fylde forward Rowe on Tranmere radar

By

Tranmere boss Micky Mellon remains interested in signing strikers Danny Rowe and Callum Lang this summer after previous moves for the pair failed.

Rowe was once again in hot form in the National League as he won the divisional Player of the Year after another prolific campaign. However, he looks set to leave AFC Fylde as he is now out-of-contract. He has no shortage of suitors though.

Cheltenham are also still interested and have released forward Tyrone Barnett in order to free-up a striking position, but a host of League One and League Two clubs are ready to offer the 29-year-old a deal.

Also, interesting Rovers is Wigan Athletic forward Callum Lang.

Lang, who scored a brace for Oldham against us last season, is still under contract at DW Stadium but manager Paul Cook is open to allowing him to leave, possibly permanently.

A move for Lang may have to wait until much later in to pre-season though as Cook attempts to bring his own new additions in.

Rovers are on the lookout for goal scorers ahead of next season with James Norwood almost certain to join Ipswich Town. That move could be confirmed as early as Monday or Tuesday this week.
