The third episode of A Trip To The Moon podcast has been released featuring an interview with former Manchester City and Tranmere man Tyrone Loran.
Fondly known as the ‘Dutch Destroyer’ during his time with Rovers, Loran was an extremely popular figure with fans. He spent nearly two years at the club, playing a key role in a club record unbeaten run under Ray Mathias and in a run to the FA Cup Quarter Final.
In the podcast, Loran talks about his move to Tranmere, a nightmare debut for the club, and recalls fondly the time he spent playing under Mathias. Loran also touches on Micky Mellon – a former team mate – and discusses why things didn’t work out for him once Brian Little came in as manager.
Loran loved his time at Tranmere and enjoyed a great relationship with Tranmere fans, returning to Prenton Park to play in Ian Goodison’s testimonial in 2015. A man who was heard from rarely in interviews while at the club, he returned to Holland after leaving Prenton Park and hasn’t been seen or heard of since, with the exception of Goodison’s testimonial.
