Tranmere’s charge up the National League continued as they recorded consecutive win number five after beating Guiseley 4-0.
The plucky Yorkshire side put up a brave fight against Rovers and for an hour managed to keep the score goalless. However, once the first goal went in, it looked like Tranmere could continue to score all day long.
It took a lovely opening goal from James Norwood to break the deadlock before a brace from in-form Connor Jennings and another goal for Andy Cook put Tranmere out of sight.
Today’s result followed the four-goal haul on Boxing Day against Fylde at Prenton Park. Rovers will travel to Lancashire for the reverse fixture with Dave Challinor’s men on New Years Day.
Rather than write an in-depth report on today’s game, let’s get back to mince pies and selection boxes. See you at Fylde.
