Tranmere Rovers will start their first season back in League One with a home fixture against Rochdale.
Prenton Park has not hosted an opening day fixture since 2015 when Rovers beat Woking 1-0 courtesy of a Jay Harris wonder strike.
On the final day of the season, Rovers face the dreaded trip to Peterborough United! Let’s hope nothing too much is riding on that as we know the history of this fixture in recent times!
That said, it was a 1-1 draw at London Road on our last trip there, in the FA Cup first round in 2017, so maybe things are changing.
We’re unable to publish the fixtures in full, so please head to the club’s official site for the full list.
As football fans, the fixture release day is about setting our plans for the next 10 months or so and the excitement building as we look ahead to a new season.
This season, in particular, will be exciting as we are (again) in a new division following promotion and so there’s a few new grounds to see and a few to revisit from the past that we haven’t been to recently.
Only 44 days to go until that first ball is kicked at Prenton Park for our first campaign back in League One!
