Following weeks of speculation, striker James Alabi joined Tranmere from rivals Chester shortly before the 2017/18 season kick-off. After scoring five goals on his debut in a pre-season win at Cammel Laird, hopes were high.
Tranmere’s embarrassment of riches in the striker department meant that Alabi struggled to games in the early part of the season. A tribunal will be held to decide the fee that Rovers must pay to Chester for Alabi.
