In the latest episode of A Trip To The Moon podcast, Matt and Rich catch-up with former Tranmere, Huddersfield Town and current Port Vale midfielder, Antony Kay.
Kay was a huge fan favourite during his two years at Prenton Park under Ronnie Moore. Despite initially struggling to break in to the team, Kay eventually did force his way in by virtue of a late goal against Luton Town on a typical Friday night game at Prenton Park.
He went on to become a free-scoring midfielder for the club while also playing the role of enforcer. During his second season, Rovers went within minutes of achieving a play-off place, only to be denied by a late goal at Scunthorpe.
In the podcasrt, Kay reflects on that day, his time at Tranmere and his current situation at Port Vale where Vale are facing a fight against relegation to the National League. He also touches on playing under former Rovers boss Gary Brabin who is currently on the coaching staff at Vale Park.
