Ben Pringle could have a key part to play for Tranmere in the next couple of weeks, but he’s already been told that his contract at Preston won’t be renewed.
Pringle joined Rovers on loan in January having spent a similar spell at Grimsby Town earlier in the season. He’s been in and out of the team, showing glimpses of real quality.
Tranmere fans will be hoping Pringle can continue to make a positive impact as the team prepares for the League Two play-off semi-finals against Forest Green. However, his parent club has included him on their released list already.
The ex-Fulham and Rotherham man is one of six players who will leave Deepdale this summer upon expiration of their contract. Also leaving are Marnick Vermijl, Tommy Spurr, Andy Boyle, Michael Howard and Tom Stead.
It will be a fascinating summer on the transfer front for Tranmere whichever division we find ourselves in.
