Tranmere have announced their first deadline day signing with confirmation that left-back Calum MacDonald’s loan move has been made permanent.
MacDonald has been superb for Rovers since joining on loan from the Seasiders in the summer, but it looked unlikely that Blackpool would let him go permanently. But they’ve done just that.
The 23-year-old took to Instagram this evening to reveal his pleasure at getting the deal done. Calum said: “Loved being here from the moment I joined. Delighted to sign for this club.”
Rovers boss Keith Hill told the official club website: “It is a great approach from the Club to protect our interests going forward by turning Calum’s loan deal into a permanent one.
“I have really enjoyed working with Calum so far, and he improves our opportunities of winning football matches, so I am delighted he has committed his future with us.
“We want to improve players and he has got the appetite to improve. Calum has the desire and the determination, and he is someone we want to continue to work with.
“We are really pleased that he is committed to what we want to achieve this season and, in the future, as well.”
