Tranmere Rovers remain in the Emirates FA Cup after securing a 2-2 draw against Wycombe Wanderers in the First Round at Prenton Park.
Kieron Morris scored a brace as Rovers led from early on and then had to come from 2-1 down to secure a replay at Adams Park in 11 days time.
It was a quickfire start by the hosts who had hit the woodwork before opening the scoring after just three minutes.
Kieron Morris was the instigator of the Rovers threat. He first saw a shot bounce back off the post before hitting the back of the net with a neat finish after driving into the penalty area at pace.
Connor Jennings sent an effort wide from outside the penalty area soon after, before the visitors came back into proceedings.
Their equaliser came from a superb free kick from 20 yards by Joe Jacobsen after Rovers had failed to clear their lines. Jacobsen stepped up and curled home past Scott Davies.
10 minutes into the second half, Wanderers took the lead as Alex Samuel steered home from inside the penalty area following a left wing free kick.
Rovers stepped up a gear and got themselves back into the game as Morris grabbed his second of the afternoon.
Good work down the left resulted in the ball being laid off by Jennings and Morris fired home with his right foot, low into the bottom corner.
Morgan Ferrier made a welcome return to action in the last quarter of the game, and showed glimpses of the threat he can provide for Micky Mellon’s side.
But despite enjoying a lot of possession and territory in the latter stages, Tranmere couldn’t quite make a further decisive breakthrough to finish the tie and so the two teams will replay at Adams Park.
Before then, they will meet in the league on Sunday 17 November, 12noon kick-off.
