The long-awaited documentary Against All The Odds has been released this week, telling the incredible story of Tranmere’s promotion back to the Football League at Wembley in 2018.

The film focusses on the National League Promotion Final and the exceptional circumstances that Rovers overcame to reclaim their place in the EFL. After defeat at Wembley 12 months earlier, Rovers had to overcome several hurdles to get the job done second time around.

All of these key stories are told from those at the heart of them, giving fans a new insight in to one of the most important days in Tranmere’s history.

Connor Jennings’ serious illness in the weeks leading up to the game, Liam Ridehalgh’s sending off within the first minute, the use of three substitutes before half-time and of course the priceless moments – the goals, the full-time whistle and the celebrations.

What really did happen in the changing room at half-time to produce such a stunning response from the players?

The story is told through a series of eight exclusive interviews, behind scenes footage, fan footage, photography and match footage from BT Sport and lasts a total of 80 minutes. Players to feature include James Norwood, Connor Jennings, Steve McNulty, Jeff Hughes and Liam Ridehalgh, while manager Micky Mellon is also interviewed.

BT Sport’s Matt Smith, Tranmere Rovers Trust Chairman Ben Harrison and Tranmere’s first team coach driver, John Carroll, also feature in the film adding new angles and insight in to an unforgettable day.

Released on Tuesday, it received glowing reviews from Tranmere fans on Twitter.
