Tenacious midfielder Jay Harris joined Tranmere on a free transfer from local rivals Wrexham shortly after the club was relegated out of the Football League. He would also score the club’s first goal in the National League, a stunning late free-kick on the opening day of the season to give the club a 1-0 win over Woking.
Harris has remained an integral part of the team since he arrived at the club, offering a real bite and energy in the centre of the park. He was badly missed during the run-in of the 2016/17 season following a knee injury sustained against Forest Green in April 2017. He would miss the remainder of the campaign, including the play-offs.
Having initially penned a one-year deal when joining the club, but followed this up with a new two-year contract in 2016. He will be out of contract at the end of the 2017/18 season.
