Highly-rated goalkeeper Luke Pilling signed a new one-year contract with Tranmere in the summer of 2017 despite fierce interest from clubs as high as the Championship. The Wales under-21 goalkeeper has grown through Rovers’ youth system and made his first team debut in a 1-0 win at Maidstone toward the end of the 2016/17 season.
His contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, and many fans feel Rovers must give the stopper game time if they are to keep him at the club. However, Pilling faces competition from one of the best goalkeepers in the division to get to the number one spot.
