Experienced defender Ritchie Sutton was one of the club’s first signings following relegation in to the National League. He joined on a free transfer having left League Two outfit Mansfield Town where he has played over 130 games.
Capable of playing at right back or centre back, the defender suffered injuries at unfortunate times throughout his first two seasons at Prenton Park, meaning he often struggled to hold down regular first team spots. Following Micky Mellon’s arrival in 2016, the defender did see more regular first team football, weighing in with goals in several matches.
He has found himself a mainstay in Mellon’s team in the early part of 2017/18 season.
