Influential defender and club captain Steve McNulty was an impressive signing for the club when he left Luton Town to move back closer to home in October 2015. Having played a key role in promotions out of the National League with both Fleetwood and Luton, his experience was going to be key.
Despite a shaky start, McNulty soon won over the Prenton Park faithful with some excellent displays. Since his arrival, Rovers have constantly had one of the strongest defences in the division, McNulty’s influence in this cannot be under-played.
Following the departure of Steven Jennings in the summer of 2017, McNulty became club captain after exercising the option for a further one year contract with the club.
