Podcast | Full-back Andy Taylor recalls his time at Tranmere and a typical Antony Kay story

By

The latest episode of A Trip To The Moon podcast has been released, and it features former Tranmere and current Blackpool defender Andy Taylor.

Taylor joined Tranmere initially on-loan from Blackburn Rovers in late 2007, a move that would be made permanent despite interest from other clubs.

The young full-back became a popular figure at Prenton Park and made 60 appearances before being sold to Sheffield United shortly after John Barnes was appointed manager.

Like most former-Tranmere players, Taylor remembers fondly the time he spent at the club. Speaking to ATTTM hosts Matt and Rich, Andy goes in to detail about how his move to Tranmere came about and recalls some of his memories from his days at Prenton Park.

Among his stories is a great anecdote about Antony Kay, he reveals who he roomed with on away trips as well as recalling the painful day at Scunthorpe.

Taylor is now playing back in League One with Blackpool having captained the Seasiders to promotion from League Two via the play-offs last season.
