You’d be forgiven if you’d forgotten that striker George Waring was a Tranmere Rovers player.
The tall striker joined the club on a two-year deal in the summer of 2017 after leaving Stoke City and has only made three brief substitute appearances in a Rovers shirt.
Last season, he went out on loan to FC Halifax Town and Kidderminster Harriers. Unlikely to feature for Rovers in the Football League, the 23-year-old was invited to trial at other clubs during pre-season but was unable to secure a move away from Prenton Park.
Today, he has been given the opportunity to get some game time under his belt and, perhaps, try and earn a move away from Wirral as he embarks on a second loan to National League North outfit Kidderminster until the end of the year where he’ll team up with popular former Tranmere full-back Lee Vaughan who also plies his trade at Aggborough.
