Predicted lineups: Tranmere Rovers vs Shrewsbury Town

By

Tranmere Rovers are back in action at Prenton Park as they host Shrewsbury Town on Saturday afternoon (3:00pm kick-off).

Rovers boss Micky Mellon has a whole host of injury issues affecting his team selection for the game against one of his former clubs, as we have discussed earlier in the week here.

Sid Nelson is a doubt, so there could be a makeshift Rovers rearguard with potentially Liam Ridehalgh moving across from full-back into central defence with Cameron Borthwick-Jackson coming in at left-back.

Visitors Shrewsbury Town have some selection concerns of their own.

Central defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell limped out of their 3-0 home defeat to Fleetwood Town last weekend and has been ruled out of the game at Prenton Park.

Aaron Pierre, who replaced him during last week’s game, is expected to step into the starting XI for Sam Ricketts’ side in a back three.

Ex-Tranmere midfielder Ollie Norburn will captain the team from the heart of the midfield while Jason Cummings leads the Shrews’ attack and is their leading goalscorer with two strikes to his name so far this term.
