Tranmere have signed Preston midfielder Ben Pringle on loan until the end-of-the-season.
The 29-year-old will go straight in to the Rovers squad for Saturday’s important League Two match at Mansfield Town.
Speaking about the signing, Tranmere boss Micky Mellon said: “I am really pleased we have signed Ben until the end of the season, he is someone we have been watching for a while. He is an attacking player, left footed and can play in the wide areas.
“He is very experienced, has good quality and played plenty of games in the EFL.”
Pringle brings a wealth of experience to the club having played for the likes of Rotherham United, Derby County, Fulham and Ipswich during his career. He has also recently spent time on loan with fellow League Two side Grimsby Town.
Having joined Derby as a 20-year-old, he went on to join Rotherham United where he made in excess of 150 appearances, making a name for himself as an attacking midfielder with an eye for goal.
His career has slowed up a little since. Pringle has played just 10 games for Preston since joining from Fulham in 2016 and has subsequently spent time with both Oldham and Grimsby on loan.
On paper at least, he looks like an excellent signing for Rovers.
