In this season’s final episode of A Trip To The Moon podcast, Matt and Rich enjoy a fascinating catch-up with two-time Tranmere midfielder, and ex-Rotherham United man, Danny Harrison.
A local lad, Danny grew up in Wirral before joining the Academy following a spell in Everton’s youth setup. He developed as a hard-working midfielder and made his first team debut under Dave Watson in League One. He went on to play more than 120 games in his first spell at the club.
During this episode, Danny chats in length with Matt and Rich about his time coming through the youth system at Rovers and his progress in to the first team. He recalls his first goal for the club, big league and cup games against Millwall, Bolton, MK Dons and Hartlepool.
Danny also recalls the 6-0 defeat at Hull City when Rovers were going for promotion in 2004, a day when Theo Whitmore ended up in goal. Find out what the process was in the dressing room that day that culminated in the Jamaican midfielder playing the second half in goal.
It’s a great listen and is around half an hour long, so perfect for your next commute or when sitting in the garden and listening while you relax!
