The annual instalment of the FIFA video game is about to drop, and we’ve tried and tested Tranmere on the new game ahead of its upcoming release.
Rovers of course find themselves in League Two in the latest game, but the squad looks pretty strong. We put it through its digital paces today to see what Tranmere fans can expect ahead of the FIFA 21 release tomorrow.
Tranmere FIFA 21 player ratings
Tranmere’s highest rated player on FIFA is Jay Spearing. The experienced midfielder comes rated at 67, narrowly ahead of James Vaughan and Manny Monthe who are 65s.
Kieron Morris and Corey Blackett-Taylor come next at 64, with CBT also the joint second-quickest player in all of League Two.
There’s a host of players rated at 63, including Liam Ridehalgh, Ollie Banks, Peter Clarke and on-loan Celtic full-back Lee O’Connor.
Strikers Stefan Payne and Morgan Ferrier are 62 along with Sid Nelson, Callum Macdonald and Mark Ellis.
Player likeness
As is always the case, EA Sports don’t spend too much time working on the player likeness below the Premier League. That said, a couple of the Rovers players look vaguely familiar in the pixelated version of themselves. Jay Spearing is probably the best likeness.
We’ve put a few images below.

Kit
Tranmere’s new kits look well in the game as you’d expect. The home kit is simple and smart while the black away kit also looks very tidy indeed.
Fans
Okay, so the fans are the same for every team with their team’s colours plastered on, but it looks well. It’s just a shame Rovers still play in the fictional Ivy Lane stadium.
