Young midfielder Harvey Gilmour should be in Tranmere’s squad for tomorrow night’s FA Cup tie against Tottenham which comes just hours before his loan ends.
Thanks to the tie moving to Friday night, Gilmour just about squeezes in to contention for the game with his loan from Sheffield United due to expire on Saturday. As of yet, there is no word on whether Rovers will look to extend Harvey’s loan any further.
Gilmour has been in and out of the team since arriving at Prenton Park but has shown plenty of promise. In October, he enjoyed an exceptional month and was named League Two Young Player of the Month having scored late winners against Morecambe and Macclesfield.
Since then, he has been limited mostly to substitute appearances but always offers Tranmere some energy and creativity when introduced.
Having been short on midfielders at times during the last month or so, Tranmere now look to have a host of options for tomorrow night. Jay Harris, Luke McCullough, Ollie Banks, Larnell Cole and Gilmour are all available to Micky Mellon for the big cup game against Spurs.
