Winger Tollitt leaves – but likely to stay in the EFL

By

Tranmere winger Ben Tollitt has today announced he is to leave the club upon the expiration of his contract this summer, but a stay in the EFL could be on the cards.

Tollitt has found first team opportunities hard to come by at Prenton Park this season after fighting his way back from two serious injuries.

A loan spell at Wrexham was a reminder of what quality he possesses, but with a host of loan players ahead of him at Tranmere, his pathway back in to the first team was blocked.

While Wrexham are one club who will be interested, we understand several EFL clubs are also considering a move for the player.

From what we know, there is interest from clubs in both League One and League Two, with two in particular at the forefront of the chase for his signature. We won’t mention the clubs just yet, but remaining in the north-west looks likely.

We’ll keep our ear to the ground and let you know if we hear any other gossip.

Best of luck to Ben for the future. An incredibly exciting player during his first year with Rovers, sadly injuries cost us from seeing him develop further in a white shirt.
