Boreham Wood 1-2 Tranmere

Report

We’ve done it! Rovers return to the Football League in one of the most incredible, heroic performances that Wembley Stadium has ever witnessed.

Tranmere were reduced to 10 men inside 48 seconds. They took the lead a few minutes later but had to use all three subs before half-time. Boreham Wood levelled in the EIGTH minute of first half stoppage time, but with 10 left to play, James Norwood headed a sensational winning goal that sparked pandemonium.

Micky Mellon’s team of heroes – possibly now legends – saw it out to spark enormous celebrations in the stands. It continued back in Birkenhead in to the early hours of Sunday, and well in to Sunday afternoon and evenings.

Tranmere Rovers are back.
